Experience level: College degree preferred. Ceramics studio experience of at least two years.

Responsibilities:
The studio assistants work directly with Gina to make sure the studio’s daily operations run smoothly. You will assist in all stages of creating work. This includes wedging clay, trimming, handle making and attaching, slab work, glaze mixing, kiln loading, sanding finished work and shipping artwork, cleaning, recycling clay, and in some cases kiln repair. 

Clay and glaze knowledge: Glaze mixing, inventory of materials, supply management. Recycling clay to ensure an efficient use of materials.

Customer support: Assist studio members with clay orders and any questions. Help customers when they come to shop or pick up orders. 

Studio cleanliness: Keep the studio and its supplies clean and organized. 

Equipment maintenance such as kiln repair and clean up. 

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of ceramic processes and daily studio activities.
  • The ability to collaborate in a team work environment and communicate effectively to all staff members to ensure our clients needs and orders are met in a timely fashion. 
  • Professionalism and work ethic: We work with small and large accounts across the country. -
  • Accountability, punctuality, time management and a commitment to the well-being of the studio members
  • Ability to lift 50lbs. 
  • Flexible availability. 

Compensation: $15/Hr

Status: Part-time

Schedule: 9am-5pm. 2-3 shifts a week. Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri. 3 shifts during Q4 (Oct-Dec).

Start Date: 1/4/27 (training may start earlier)

Location: 13000 Athens Ave. Lakewood, OH. 

Reports to: Gina DeSantis

Studio access (Studio Benefits after a 30-day probation period): You will be able to work in the studio membership space for up to 12 hours per week for pottery wheel access and receive one shelf space for storage. You may also work on projects in the production studio as long as it does not interrupt orders. You may use studio member glazes and materials. Firings will be included. You may also sell work during the Screw Factory Artist events (but are required to pay the booth fee per our building management’s policies.)

Discounts: Clay will be sold at cost to assistants. 

PTO: 2 paid days off for vacation.

Experience level: Ceramics studio experience of at least two years. College students and graduates are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities:

The studio interns will work directly with Gina and her studio assistants and shipping staff to make sure the studio's daily operations run smoothly. You will assist in all stages of creating work. This includes wedging clay, trimming, handle making and attaching, slab work, glaze mixing, kiln loading, sanding finished work and shipping artwork, cleaning and recycling clay

Clay and glaze knowledge: Assist with glaze mixing and inventory management.

Customer support: Assist studio members with clay orders and any questions. Help customers when they come to shop or pick up orders.

Studio maintenance: Help keep the studio clean and organized. Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies.

Shipping and packaging: Help package and ship orders to customers.

Hours: 12 hours per week.

Compensation: $14/hr
