Jazz up your claywork with decoration! Mudflat teacher and studio artist Arthur Halvorsen will present this one-day hands-on workshop focusing on a variety of surface decoration techniques. Demonstrations will include sprigs, stamps, paper stencils, newsprint transfer, sgraffito, and paper resist. Students will have opportunities to try these techniques on clay tiles or your own forms. Find new ways to make your work stand out.

Arthur Halvorsen is a graduate of Maine College of Art where he received his BFA in ceramics. Arthur's work uses bright colors, textures and patterns on earthenware, drawing from pop art, coloring books and tattoos as source material. Arthur is a Mudflat studio artist, and he teaches classes and workshops at both Mudflat and Harvard Ceramics and and other venues nationally.
